Our 2 day chimpanzee trekking safari experience will take you on a chimp trek inside Kibale forest in the western Uganda via fort portal. Chimpanzee trekking activity in Kibale forest offers 2 opportunities for trekking per day, that’s morning or afternoon. You are allowed to stay with the chimps for a maximum of an hour experiencing the behaviors of these closest relatives.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Entebbe/Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

Drive through the beautiful countryside of western Uganda, enjoy remarkable view of landscapes, traditional homes and catch glimpses of the different striking bird species. You will have lunch in Fort portal town – the tourism capital of Uganda because of the beautiful landscapes and attractions.

In the evening, take a walk in the Bigodi swamp area, get chance to interact with the locals, have a coffee experience, banana beer making experience, basketry and listen from the medicine man about how he deals with different diseases and illnesses.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest

After your breakfast, you will proceed to the Park headquarters where they brief of the Dos and Don’ts of the chimpanzee trekking activity and also allocate you a chimpanzee community to trek, your assigned ranger guide who will then lead you on the trek in search of this great ape. see the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, feed, play and caring for their babies. You’re only allowed an hour in their presence

End of the Chimpanzee trekking safari and transfer back to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe international airport.
