2 day Gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda
This 2 day Gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda begins from Kigali to the Volcanoes National Park and then back to Kigali for a city tour. On this safari, there will be enough time to trek gorillas in the mist forests and valleys as well as enough time for a city tour. Note: Each gorilla permit is at a cost of $1500 per person.

Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Visit the Genocide memorial site & City Tour
We you will have an early morning breakfast from the hotel in Kigali, where your driver will pick you up from, brief you about the 2 day Gorilla trekking safari of Rwanda, then he will take you on a city tour; where you will be able to Visit the Genocide memorial site with information and memories of the blood shad of blood 1994 genocide and also visit some local markets, then have lunch and transfer to Volcanoes National park which lies about 80 km from Kigali.
On reaching the park that’s if you are still in time, you will visit the Ibywachu village Community.
Have dinner and overnight as you prepare for gorilla trekking on the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and transfer to Kigali
In morning the morning after breakfast, you will transfer to the Kinigi Park headquarters by 7:00am where you will be briefed by park rangers about the rules concerning Gorilla trekking.
After your briefing, then start off with the trekking along the paths in the bamboo forests. it is an amazing activity where it can take between 2 to 6 hours to track the mountain gorillas. When you meet the gorillas face to face you will watch them jumping from branch to branch, feed, play among other things; Only 1 hour is given to trekkers to watch the gentle giants.
You will also see other wildlife like the buffaloes, monkeys, birds, and elephants through the forests. Later, transfer back to the lodge for lunch, check out and transfer back to Kigali to your accommodation or the airport.

Best time for the 2 day Gorilla Trekking
Rainfall is the main factor to consider when deciding the best time for gorilla tracking. Heavy rains result in slippery and challenging hiking trails. It can rain at any time of the year, but the time periods of June to August and December to January have less rain and are thereby considered the best time to go. The park stays open throughout the year.
