What to Expect

Unlike the other safaris, the Discover Uganda Safari takes you to walk the footsteps of John Speke, to the source of the mighty Nile and follow the Nile through to thundering waters of Murchison Falls. Here we’ll experience the Nile forcing its way through a gap in the rocks, only 7 metres (23 ft) wide, and tumbling 43 metres (141 ft), before flowing westward into Lake Albert.

And of course there’s another highlight of the Discover Uganda Safari – and that is the thrilling unforgettable one-day gorilla trekking adventure in the misty Bwindi Impenetrable forest, home to almost half of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas.

This thrilling 18 days discover Uganda adventure starts and ends in Entebbe where your driver/guide will pick you and your party from Entebbe International Airport and settle you into a hotel, brief you about the coming days expectations and guidelines before letting you settle into your slumber.

Your first discovery of Uganda takes you 1.5 hours east via the capital Kampala to Jinja, the old colonial town and source of the nile. On our way we will make a stop at Mabira Forest, one of the largest and most beautiful tropical forests in Uganda. A hike will enable you to stretch your legs and you will have a chance to see different species of primates, birds and colourful butterflies. If you are an adrenaline junkie, Bungee jumping and whitewater rafting are some of the activities on the nile in those parts but for everyone else, we’ll take boat ride tour to the Speke Monuments and the actual Nile source where flows from the ground up to form the nile.

Thats not all in the east, ther’s Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa district that is a series of three waterfalls lying on the edge of Mount Elgon National Park near the Kenyan border. The Sipi falls area offers an astonishing cool environment with fresh air from the slopes of Mountain Elgon. It offers a magnificent place to wind down, relax and cool out. We depart Jinja in the morning, spend the day at Sipi falls and retreat to Jinja for the over night and the next day follow the nile to the thundering Murchison Falls.

The Rest of the Discover Uganda Safari is wildlife, beautiful scenery and colourful adventure through Kibale Forest National Park home to habituated chimpanzees and 12 other species of primates, Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for its tree-climbing lions, whose males sport black manes and Bwindi Impenetrable forest for the highlight, unforgettable gorilla trekking experience. Home to almost half of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas, the World Heritage-listed Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of East Africa’s most famous national parks. Set over 331 sq km of improbably steep mountain rainforest, the park is home to an estimated 360 gorillas: undoubtedly Uganda’s biggest tourist drawcard.

After that kal draining gorilla tracking adventure, we take you through the last wildlife experince to spot the zebras, elephants and giraffes in the only park you can stroll through, Lake Mburo National park before you return to Kampala on a sightseeing road trip through the hills and plains of the Pearl of Africa and a farewell dinner recounting all the special moments.
