Tracking down African BIG FIVE is always top on the list for every safari tour. From the King of the Jungle, the Lion and the cunning Leopard to the largest land mammal the Elephants, the rare white Rhinos and the aggressive Buffaloes. Have your checklist ready, we will take you on the most sought after Safari in Africa. Your hunting gear is your camera, lets plan this trip now!

What to Expect

The 3 days Murchison Falls Safari begins and ends in quiet lovely town of Entebbe, the President’s home. We will set out passing through the capital Kampala for an African city Experience and head towards the north-west of the capital passing through the famous 80’s war town, Luwero Triangle and stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary  to track the first member of the Africa big five family, the White Rhino for about 1.5 hours or less on foot. You’ll make it in time for lunch in Masindi, a town close to the entrance of Murchison Falls National Park where we’ll spend the night.

The Morning of the second day of the 3 days Murchison Falls Safari is our big Africa Safari day to catch the other 4 of the Africa big five game family. We head for an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile.  Animals you may see include; Elephants, Lions, Cape buffalo, Rothchild’s Giraffe, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reed buck, Spotted Hyena and if you are lucky, the Leopard.

After lunch, go for a Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, an experience not to be missed!! Here you will see the River Nile said to be the Longest river in the world crush through a narrow gorge and forming the magnificent Murchison Falls.

While on the cruise you may see Hippos, Crocodiles, Elephants, Waterbuck and Uganda Kobs among others. This is also the zone of many birds, with species like Goliath Heron, Egyptian Geese, Pelicans, Bee-eaters, Kingfishers, Hornbill, Cormorant and the rare Shoebill stork. We will head back to the lodge after exhausting our camera memories, draining our calories and using up all the day’s light – what an adventure – for a farewell dinner and the next morning head back to the capital to prepare your next trip back home.
